What to Expect from Your SkinPen Microneedling Session

Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure that normally only takes about 30 minutes per session. The number of sessions you’ll need will vary based on your goals.

Before your treatment

Arrive at the clinic with clean, bare skin free of makeup and fragrance. Your provider will gently clean the treatment area; you can request a topical numbing cream as well, if you have any concerns about pain or discomfort.

Then, your clinician will apply a product called “Lift Hydrogel.” This gel lubricates your skin, reducing friction between your skin and the SkinPen and making the treatment easier and more comfortable.

During the treatment

A trained, licensed care provider will administer your SkinPen treatment. Using the device, millions of micropunctures are created on the target area to activate the body’s natural wound healing process.

Recovery and aftercare

Downtime after microneedling is minimal; you may experience some redness or irritation to the treatment area for up to three days. Keep the area moisturized and protected from the sun.
